Bengaluru: Just two days after the Election Commission of India announced the Karnataka assembly poll-2023 schedule, two sitting MLAs of the current Assembly — A.T. Ramaswamy, the JD(S) Legislator from Arakalgud Assembly segment in Hassan district and N.Y. Gopalakrishna, the BJP Legislator representing Kudligi in Vijayanagar district, resigned as MLAs today. While A.T. Ramaswamy submitted his resignation to Legislative Assembly Secretary M.K. Vishalakshi at the Speaker’s Office in Bengaluru as Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri was not in Office, N.Y. Gopalakrishna submitted his resignation directly to Speaker Kageri at Sirsi, the Constituency in Uttara Kannada district which the Speaker represents, it is learnt.
