‘Shilpashastra Nagendracharya Award’ for Mysuru’s Dakshinamurthy and Special Award for Vittal Rayappa Kambara of Ramanagaram
Mysuru: The prestigious ‘Ramsons Kala Pratishtana Award,’ sponsored by Ramsons Kala Pratishtana (RKP), Mysuru, will be given to Mounesh Kambar from Yadgir at the 13th Annual Sculpture Exhibition of the Karnataka Shilpa Kala Academy at Nayana Auditorium, Kannada Bhavana, on JC Road in Bengaluru today (Jan. 30) at 6 pm.
The prestigious ‘Shilpashastra Nagendracharya Award’ will be given to N. Dakshinamurthy of Mysuru at the same function. A special award in the name of late Gangadhar M. Badigar of the KSRP Second battalion (Karnataka State Reserve Police – II Battalion), Belagavi, will also be given and the recipient is Vittal Rayappa Kambara of Ramanagaram. Other awardees of this sculpture competition are: V. Nagaraj (Bengaluru), Gopal Kammar (Bengaluru), N. Navya (Bengaluru), K. Vishal (Shivamogga), T.R. Mahesh (Ramanagaram) and M. Devaraj (Bengaluru).
Minister for Kannada and Culture and Women & Child Development, Umashree will give away the awards to the prize winners. A booklet on the prize winners will be released on the occasion by N.R. Vishu Kumar of the Kannada and Culture Department. Eminent sculptor Ganesh L. Bhat of Bengaluru will be the chief guest. Guest of honour is R.G. Singh of Ramsons Kala Pratishtana. Shilpi R. Kalachar, President of Shilpa Kala Academy, will preside.
The following eminent and senior sculptors will be felicitated with honorary awards: Mahadevappa Shambhulingappa Shilpi from Kalaburagi, John Devaraj of Bengaluru, Manappa Sankarappa Badiger of Vijayapura, M. Ramamurthy of Bengaluru and B. Shamsundar Bhat of Mysuru.
