Mysuru/Mysore: Critically acclaimed play ‘Gandhi Vs Gandhi’ will be staged at Rangayana on weekends this month — Mar. 15, 22 and 29.
Addressing a press meet at Sriranga auditorium in Rangayana premises yesterday, Rangayana Director Addanda C. Cariappa said, “Touring unit of Rangayana, Sanchari Ranga Ghataka, has successfully travelled across the State and has staged over 100 shows of the following three plays, ‘Arcadiadalli Puck,’ ‘Boiled Beans on Toast’ and ‘Rex Hours Dyno – Ekangi Payana.’ This touring unit, comprising of junior artistes, will be staging these plays at Cochin in Kerala from Mar. 25 to Mar. 27 and in Hyderabad from Apr. 3 to 5.”
“Twenty students of Bharatiya Ranga Shikshana Kendra will stage ‘Aavuru Eevuru’ on Apr. 8 and 9. Preparations are on for the annual ‘Chinnara Mela’ which is scheduled to begin from Apr.11. After that, as part of World Theatre Day, we will be hosting ‘Ranga Saptaha’ (Theatre Week) in May. The play ‘Papu Gandhi, Gandhi Bapu Aada Kathe,’ which has given over 150 shows so far, will be enacted till Oct. 2 of this year,” he said.
