Team India former Director Ravi Shastri has made up his mind to apply for the top job in the Indian team.
Shastri will apply for the job of the Head Coach which has been lying vacant after Anil Kumble resigned last week.
Kumble’s original one-year contract ended with the Champions Trophy, but he was to continue with the team for the ongoing West Indies tour. Later, the BCCI invited fresh applications to add to the list of Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Lalchand Rajput, Richard Pybus and Dodda Ganesh, who have already been short listed. The last date for submissions is July 9. The BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee – comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman – has been tasked with selecting the team’s coach.
