Mar Raphael Thattil, the Major Archbishop of the Syro Malabar Church, will be reaching Mysuru tomorrow (Sunday). This is the First official visit of the Major Archbishop to Mysuru, after he assumed the charge in January 2024.
The Major Archbishop, along with Mar Sebastian Adayanthrath, the Bishop of Mandya, Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Antony Vazhappilly, the Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Mysuru, will be accorded a rousing reception at the Infant Jesus Cathedral, Hinkal, at 9.30 am by the Syro Malabar faithful of the Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts, under the leadership of Fr. Thomas Mangalathil, the Parish Priest of the Cathedral.
The Major Archbishop will be the main celebrant for the Solemn Eucharistic celebration at 9.45 am followed by the blessing and sharing of the meals as part of the celebration of the Feast of St. Joseph.
The Syro Malabar Priests, Nuns and the faithful from the Mysore Forane of the Diocese of Mandya will participate in the programme, according to Fr. Job Kunnumpurath, K.V. Wilson and Sunil Jose — the office bearers.
