Sir,
Indeed our KSRTC has a very skilled fleet of drivers who have proved their ability to drive along some of the most challenging roads in and out of Karnataka.
But as I have noticed and heard from many people, the bus drivers of KSRTC (Suvarna Karnataka Sarige and Airavat) are highly impatient on highways and in several major traffic junctions towards other commuters (especially towards two-wheelers) putting a lot of lives at risk.
This raises several questions and concerns:
1. Are the drivers being forced to work round-the-clock that they are highly stressed and is this the reason for their impatience?
- Are the drivers being made to follow strict timings and due to speed governors (in Suvarna Sarige buses) are they forced to drive so to maintain the schedule?
- KSRTC should setup a complaint section to look into cases of reckless driving reported by commuters.
I hope these issues are addressed as soon as possible, as accidents caused by KSRTC buses are alarmingly increasing.
