Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru unit of Skål International, a professional organisation of tourism leaders around the world, promoting global tourism and friendship, has reacted sharply to the Government’s decision to scrap the ropeway project atop Chamundi Hill.
In a press statement, Skål President B.S. Prashanth said that the move was unfortunate and detrimental to Mysuru’s tourism. “We condemn the decision and the Government has taken this decision bending to the pressure exerted by someone. A ropeway could actually minimise the traffic to Chamundi Hill and it would have cut down pollution,” he said. He urged the Government to reconsider its plan after consulting the experts as a ropeway project will immensely benefit Mysuru’s tourism.
