Registration of sites sans land conversion procedure to be cancelled: Revenue Minister

Mysore/Mysuru: Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said that registration of sale deed of sites sold on the basis of RTC (Rights, Tenancy and Crops), without fulfilling the due procedures of land conversion, will be cancelled.

He was addressing the Progress Review Meeting of Revenue Department, coming under Mysuru Division, including nine districts, at the office of Regional Commissioner, Mysuru Division, on Hunsur Road in city yesterday.

Sharing his observations,  he said “Barring 5 percent of sites developed on the lands after fulfilling the procedures of land conversion, majority of 95 percent of sites are developed on the lands without fulfilling the procedures of land conversion, before completing the process of registration of sale deed on the basis of RTC. Besides, it is also being mentioned in the RTC that, the layout has been developed on the land, following which the sale deed is being registered on the basis of the name of residential layout. The possibilities of dual selling of the same site cannot be ignored, without coming to the notice of even the Government. It leads to disparity in records, incurring a heavy loss to Government.”

Ultimately, it is the gullible people who will be embroiled in difficulties. In the case of dual selling of the same site to different parties, it is obvious that the buyers would move Court. Taking all these into cognisance, local bodies should henceforth stop issuing permission to sites developed on lands without fulfilling due procedures of land conversion, he said.
