Mysore/Mysuru: Even as the election to the President and Vice-President posts of Mysuru-Chamarajanagar District Co-operative Central (MCDCC) Bank is being held today, in which Congress leader Doddaswamegowda is a top contender for the President post, Advocate Arunkumar has asked the Returning Officer (RO) to reject his (Doddaswamegowda) nomination papers.
Pointing out that only those Directors who do not have any cases pending against them in Courts can contest the polls, he argued that Doddaswamegowda’s contest in the MCDCC polls is a clear violation of Karnataka Co-operative Societies Act.
He warned of moving the Court if the RO accepts the nomination papers of Doddaswamegowda for MCDCC Bank President’s post.
Doddaswamegowda reacts
Reacting to Arunkumar’s allegations, Doddaswamegowda said that the elections to the MCDCC Bank President and Vice-President posts is being held today in which he is contesting.
“I had got the land in question registered legally 22 years ago. It has been 18 years since I left BEML. What is the reason that the issue is being deliberately raised now ahead of the Bank polls. It is the responsibility of the current Board of Directors of BEML Housing Co-operative Society to set right any injustice in respect of the sites distributed to the 12 persons. The Advocate representing the Society will take care of the matter,” he clarified.
