Karnataka Kodava Sahitya Academy, Madikeri and Kodava Samaja, Mysuru, have jointly organised a seminar on ‘Inclusion of Kodava Language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution’ and book release programme at Kodava Samaja auditorium in city tomorrow (Oct. 20) at 10.30 am. Kannada and Culture Minister V. Sunil Kumar will inaugurate the event. Karnataka Kodava Sahitya Academy Chairperson Dr. Ammatanda Parvathi Appaiah will preside.
MP Pratap Simha, MLAs K.G. Bopaiah and M.P. Appachu Ranjan, MLC S. Veena Achaiah, Karnataka Western Ghats Conservation Task Force Chairman S. Ravi Kushalappa, Dr. R. Chalapati of Centre of Excellence for Studies in Classical Kannada (CESCK) and Kodava Samaja-Mysuru President K.M. Belliappa will be the chief guests. A. Mahesh Nachaiah, Editor of ‘Poomale’ Weekly will deliver a talk on the seminar topic.
Books to be released on the occasion are as follows: ‘Meedibeppo’ authored by I. Ramesh Uthappa, ‘Nallame’ authored by M. Shobha Subbaiah, ‘Ponnuranta Thakk’ authored by C. Lalitha Cariappa and ‘Sampoorna Mahabharata – Chod Chodya’ by B. Gowramma Madammaiah.
