Bengaluru: Renowned Thenkuthittu Yakshagana comedy artiste Bantwal Jayaram Acharya passed away in Bengaluru following a heart attack yesterday (Oct. 21) morning. He was 67.
Acharya was in Bengaluru for a Yakshagana performance as part of a team led by Chandrashekhar Dharmasthala when he suffered a heart attack. Though he was rushed to the hospital, he could not be saved. He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.
The mortal remains will be taken to his native place at Bantwal today and will be kept for the public to pay their last respects. Last rites will be performed later in the day.
