Bengaluru: Sandalwood actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who was in Police custody along with 13 others, following their arrest in the murder case of Renuka Swamy of Chitradurga, was produced before the Special Court for Economic Offences yesterday.
While the Police custody of Darshan and three others was extended by two days, the remaining 10 accused including prime suspect in the case Pavithra Gowda, have been remanded to Judicial Custody (JC).
Darshan, Dhanaraj alias Raj, Vinay and Pradosh were those sent to Police custody further, while those sent to JC are Pavithra Gowda, Pavan, Raghavendra, Nandish, Jagadish, Anukumar, Nagaraj, Lakshman, Deepak and Keshavamurthy.
While three other accused Ravishankar, Karthik and Nikhil Nayak are already in JC. The total arrests made in the case are 17. Following the remand of 10 accused to JC, they were all taken to Parappana Agrahara Central Prison.
Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Prasanna Kumar argued on behalf of the prosecution, while advocate Anil Babu appeared for Darshan and Narayanswamy for Pavithra Gowda.
