Bengaluru: Sandalwood actress Pavithra Gowda, Accused-1 in the murder of Renukaswamy of Chitradurga, was released from Parappana Agrahara Jail here this morning. Pradosh S. Rao, a small-time actor and Accused-14 in the case, was also released from the jail along with Pavithra.
The High Court had granted bail to seven accused in the case including actor Darshan, Accused-2, on Friday. They were arrested in June this year and had been serving Judicial Custody since then.
Following her release, Pavithra, accompanied by her family members including her mother Bhagyamma, brother and others, went straight to historical Vajra Muneshwara Temple at Thalaghattapura in Kanakapura Road and performed punya snana ritual. Vajra Muneshwara is the family deity of Pavithra’s family.
Archane was performed in the name of all the family members, during which, Pavithra’s mother Bhagyamma told the name of Darshan also to the priest, it is said.
Soon after walking out, Pavithra Gowda, who was received by her mother, became emotional and hugged her.
