JSS Dental College and Hospital, Mysuru, in association with Indian Dental Association (IDA), Karnataka State Branch and Mysuru branch, conducted a reorientation programme on ‘Oral Healthcare Delivery System Through Nurses,’ at JSS Dental College and Hospital in city recently.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. T.N. Tilakraj, National President of Indian Dental Association. Dr. Shivasharan, Member, Dental Council of India, Dr. P.A. Kushalappa, Director-Academics, JSS University, District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Basavaraj, R. Mahesh, Director of Medical Education, JSS Mahavidyapeeta, Principal Dr. G. Anil Kumar, Dr. B. Nandlal, President, IDA, Karnataka State Branch and Dr. N. Raghunath, President, IDA, Mysuru Branch were present.
Nursing students were educated about Pre-natal oral care, infant oral healthcare, age appropriate use of toothbrushes and toothpaste, oral hygiene practices, Geriatric oral healthcare and aspects on denture hygiene.
The team of faculty of JSS Dental College & Hospital developed educational aid. The National President of IDA released educational aid in the form of CD. Nursing students and tutors from JSS College of Nursing, JSS School of Nursing, Cauvery College of Nursing and Gopala Gowda College of Nursing participated.
