Bengaluru: Even as the Government is awaiting report from the State Backward Classes Commission, the Panchamasali Lingayat community, which has been demanding reservation for the sect under 2A Category, has set Apr. 14 deadline to the Government for announcing reservation.
Announcing this after holding a round table conference with community Seers and leaders on Tuesday, Koodalasangama Panchamsali Mutt Seer Sri Basavajaya Mrutyunjaya Swamiji said that, as promised, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai should get a report from Backward Classes Commission before Mar. 31 and announce reservation for Panchamasalis by Apr. 14, marking Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary. In case the CM fails to announce reservation, the community will be forced to launch a massive movement, he warned.
