Following representations by residents of Subramanyeshwaranagar and surrounding areas seeking a stadium at Subramanyeshwaranagar, MUDA Chairman D. Dhruvakumar (in pic) visited the area yesterday.
With the areas lacking a sports ground or a stadium, at present the children are using the vacant space adjacent to the CITB Choultry at Subramanyeshwaranagar as a playground.
During the visit, the MUDA Chairman directed the officials to clean up the vacant space. He also assured of constructing a stadium in the area.
MUDA Member Bhaskar, BJP leader M.J. Kiran Gowda, MUDA staff Mahesh, Chittappa, Sridhar, Karthik, Gangaraj, Arun, Shivakumar and others accompanied the MUDA Chairman.
Earlier in the day, Dhruvakumar accompanied by MUDA Commissioner Dr. M. Mahesh and other officials, inspected Bal Bhavan and Torchlight Parade Grounds in Bannimantap and Choultries being owned by the MUDA.
He said that MUDA will construct 8 new Choultries across the city, for which the sites will be identified. He further said that while four of them will have high rent, four others will be let out for middle and lower income groups at an affordable rent.
