Residents complain against illegal auto stand near Zoo subway

Sir,

The residents of Ittigegud are already facing a tough time to handle the traffic and parking menace of tourist vehicles as complained by many other readers in this column.

Since the Zoo subway was opened, an illegal auto stand has been set up without any permission at the exit of the subway. Now this has become a headache for all the residents.

These auto drivers park their vehicles on the already congested narrow road, creating a bottleneck traffic on this busy road. Even the footpaths are occupied by them, leaving the tourists to walk on the road. Moreover, they are also charging exorbitant fares from the tourists.

What is the Traffic Police doing? Why are these autos allowed to park on this road? Why have the Zoo authorities opened the exit gate at this junction?

This road in the locality is already littered with waste papers, cigarette butts and what not! Why is the MCC not taking action against those opening commercial stores inside the narrow residential streets?

On behalf of the residents, I once again request the Zoo authorities, Police Department and MCC to take strict action in this regard and help the residents.
