Residents upset over improper filling of road cuttings

Mysore/Mysuru: Even as the MCC has warned that unauthorised road cutters will be heavily penalised, Vani Vilas Water Works (VVWW) that functions under the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), has been accused of improper filling after it cut the road leading from KRS Road to Hebbal’s Kuvempu Circle.

The MCC’s Underground Drainage (UGD) section and VVWW had cut the road about a week ago for laying UGD pipes. But local residents allege that after completion of the works, the authorities failed to fill up the cut road in a proper manner, which has caused a lot of inconvenience to pedestrians and motorists alike.

Venting out their anger against the MCC for their indiscreet ways of road cutting and filling, the members of the public decried official apathy, saying that the authorities have little concern for the safety of motorists.

They wondered whether the MCC, which has warned the public of action for unauthorised road cutting, will be penalised now for its irresponsible ways of road cutting and filling.
