Mysuru/Mysore: Karnataka State Government Retired Employees Association will be holding a rally in Bengaluru on Feb.19 to urge the Government to fulfil their various demands.
Addressing a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan in city this morning, Association President N. Obaiah said, “To draw the attention of the Government on our long-standing demands, we have organised ‘Vidhana Soudha Chalo’ rally on Feb.19. The rally, which will begin from Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station, passes through Anand Rao Circle, before culminating at Freedom Park.”
He further said, “Retired Government employees should also be covered under the State Government’s Jyothi Sanjeevini scheme. The 25% discount on KSRTC buses fares given to the retired State Government employees should be increased to 50%. Also, the pension percentage of retired employees who have crossed 70 years of age must be increased as done in the neighbouring States.”
Obaiah also appealed all retired employees of the State Government to participate in this rally in large numbers.
Association Treasurer K.M. Nagaraj and Chief Secretary B.R. Umakanth were present during the press meet.
