Demand minimum pension of Rs. 7,500
Mysuru: Demanding a minimum pension of Rs. 7,500 per month, Karnataka State EPF Retired Employees Federation will stage a protest tomorrow from 10 am to 5 pm in front of the Regional Provident Fund office in Gayatripuram here.
Disclosing this at a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here yesterday, Federation President S.P. Ningegowda said that retired employees of all industries in Mysuru Region including those of KSRTC, Mysore Dairy, BEML, Falcon Tyres would participate in the protest supported by various trade organisations. He further said that the Union Labour Minister has assured during the last Lok Sabha Session that the minimum pension including DA would be fixed at Rs. 3,000 which has not materialised.
Continuing, he said that over five lakh retired employees would assemble at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi from tomorrow till Feb. 26 to organise a protest fast condemning the anti-labour policy of Union Government. He added that a day-long protest will be held tomorrow in city.
Ningegowd demanded a minimum pension of Rs. 7,500 and also sought abolition of Mandatory commuting pension at the time of retirement along with medical benefits for pensioners.
Federation General Secretary R.G. Mohan Krishna and office-bearers C. Krishna were present at the press meet.
