Retired Professor and writer Aravinda Malagatti felicitated

Mysuru: Aravinda Malagatti Felicitation Committee had organised a function at Rani Bahadur auditorium in Manasagangothri here recently for the release of three books and to felicitate retired Professor and writer  Aravinda Malagatti.

Speaking on the occasion, former Minister H.K. Patil contended that it was a good development in not isolating writers to regions of their origin but labelling them as the literary assets of Karnataka. He said that though Aravinda Malagatti hailed from North Karnataka, the writer grew in literary sector as a giant covering the entire state.

He further said that Aravinda Malagatti’s wife Dr. Dharanidevi though a senior Police officer, had contributed immensely to literary sector. Addressing the gathering, the littérateur was powerful enough to sink all differences and evolve unity.

Three books of Aravinda Malagatti were released by the dignitaries. Aravinda Malagatti couple were felicitated on the occasion.

Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies Director N.M. Talwar presided. Felicitation Committee Honorary President D.K. Rajendra delivered the keynote address. Writer C. Naganna, University of Mysore retired VC M. Madaiah, Maharaja’s College Retired Principal C. Sarvamanagala and others were present.
