Retired teacher’s house burgled

Gold, cash worth Rs. 4.15 lakh stolen

Mysore/Mysuru: Burglars, who broke into the house of a retired teacher, have decamped with cash, gold ornaments and silver articles worth Rs. 4.15 lakh from the house.

The burglary took place at the house of retired teacher K.R. Kamala at Teachers Layout in city.

On June 1 at about 6.30 am, Kamala, along with her daughter Kshama left for Shaneshwaraswamy Temple at Kodipuram in Tamil Nadu’s Talwadi and after participating in the temple’s anniversary, Kamala and her daughter returned home on June 2 at about 5.45 pm only to find the front door of the house forcibly opened.

On inspecting the house, Kamala found the almirah in the bedroom ransacked and Rs. 2 lakh cash, gold ornaments worth Rs. 1.25 lakh and silver articles worth Rs. 90,000 stolen.

Based on the complaint from Kamala, Alanahalli Police, who have registered a case, are               investigating.
