Mysuru: Dejected over the KSOU’s delaying tactics to reappoint them as per Court orders, retrenched daily wagers of the University, under the banner of Karnataka State Open University SC/ST Daily Wage Employees Association, will stage an indefinite stir in front of the Main Gate of KSOU in Muktagangothri campus on Hunsur road from 10.30 am tomorrow (Apr.19).
In a press release, Association President M. Nagaraj said that about 130 candidates were appointed by the KSOU in 2005-06 and they worked till 2010-11, when they were sacked without any notice. Subsequently, they moved the High Court, which in 2012 ordered KSOU to re-appoint them. Even the Labour Court at Mysuru too had ruled in their favour. But ignoring the Court order, the KSOU authorities held a recruitment spree recently, where 500 fresh candidates were appointed, thus denying justice to them. As such the Association has decided to stage an indefinite stir until their demand of re-appointment is fulfilled, the release said.
