Mysuru: Rangayana along with amateur artistes had organised a programme at Sriranga in Kalamandira premises here on Tuesday to pay tributes to Senior Make-up artist Guru, who passed away recently.
Theatre artiste Prof. H.S. Umesh offered floral tributes to the portrait of Guru and recalled that Guru was a man of a few words, but too good at work. He further recalled that Guru was a clerk at Sarada Vilas B.Ed College when he (Umesh) was the Principal there. He added that Guru’s make-up art on the artistes were boosting their image and performance.
Senior Theatre artiste Rajashekar Kadamba said that Guru was the make-up artist for all plays from 1991 to 2018 presented by Amara Kala Sangha. He added that the portrayal of ‘Shani’ in the play ‘Birugali’ was unique thanks to the make-up of the artiste provided by Guru.
