Mysuru: A bike rider, who had sustained severe head injuries, when a car rammed into the bike on Ring Road near Bandipalya on Sunday, died at the hospital after failing to respond to the treatment.
The pillion rider, who too sustained injuries, is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in city. While the deceased has been identified as Shivaswamy (24), a resident of Heddalli in the taluk, the injured pillion rider is Siddappa, also of the same village.
On Sunday, Shivaswamy along with Siddappa who came from Kote Hundi Road, were crossing the road at the Ring Road junction to go towards Preethi Layout, when a speeding car, which came from the right side rammed into the bike resulting in Shivaswamy and Siddappa falling down near the road divider along with the bike.
Though the seriously injured riders were rushed to a private hospital, Shivaswamy, who had sustained severe head injuries, breathed his last at the hospital, according to the Police.
K.R. Traffic Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
