Rider killed as four-wheeler hits bike

Mysore/Mysuru: A two-wheeler rider was killed when a Bolero vehicle hit the bike from behind near Palahalli in Srirangapatna on Monday evening.

The deceased has been identified as M.B. Prashanth (36), son of Bhadraiah and a resident of Mysore University Layout near Kergalli in city. He was a native of Chikkamagalur and an employee of a private company.

On Monday evening, Prashanth was proceeding on his bike to his in-law’s house at Kadatanaalu village in Srirangapatna taluk, to see his wife and baby. Prashanth’s wife was in her parents’ house for post-pregnancy care.

When he was proceeding near Palahalli, a Bolero vehicle hit the bike from behind at about 5.30 pm resulting in Prashanth sustaining serious injuries. Though he was being rushed to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru, Prashanth breathed his last midway, said Srirangapatna Town Police, who have registered a case.
