Bilikere: A 55-year-old man was killed on the spot, when a speeding KSRTC bus rammed into the bike he was riding near Bilikere this noon.
The deceased has been identified as Krishnegowda, a resident of Rangayyanakoppal near Bilikere.
It is learnt that Krishnegowda, after filling diesel to a can at a nearby petrol bunk was proceeding on the Hunsur Road, when the KSRTC bus which did not even slow down when the bus approached a series of road humps on the road, ran over the humps in high speed and rammed into the bike from behind killing Krishnegowda on the spot.
Villagers alleged that though are a series of 15 small humps on the road, many KSRTC drivers do not slow down but go over the humps in high speed and added that yesterday evening too, a person was killed on the same road due to reckless driving by KSRTC bus drivers. They demanded installation of big scientific humps on the road.
Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased were in the process of lodging a complaint at Bilikere Police Station, when we went to the press.
