Rider killed as lorry hits motorcycle at Bamboo Bazaar

Mysuru, Oct. 18 (RK&VNS)- In a tragic incident, a 22-year-old youth was killed on the spot when the motorcycle he was riding was allegedly hit by a speeding lorry (KA-09 AB 3650), in front of Government Deaf and Dumb School, Bamboo Bazaar, on Sayyaji Rao Road in the city, this afternoon.

The deceased is identified as Kiran, resident of Bamboo Bazaar, hailing from Kollegal in Chamarajanagar district.

He was going towards Sayyaji Rao Road from Ummar Khayam Road when the lorry transporting Anna Bhagya food grains, proceeding towards K.R. Hospital, hit the motorcycle killing the youth on the spot. As a result, vehicular movement at the junction was disrupted for some time.

NR Traffic Sub Inspector Siddesh and staff rushed to the spot and conducted mahazar before shifting the body to MMC&RI mortuary.

The lorry driver fled after abandoning the lorry at the spot. Police have seized the vehicles and have registered a case.
