Mysore/Mysuru: A rider was killed on the spot, while his younger brother was tossed into river after a car rammed into their bike on the bridge in Yelwal Police limits on Sunday night.
While the deceased had been identified as Vishwa (22), his younger brother, who was tossed into the river and gone untraceable is Vishnu (20), both residents of Hosakote.
Vishwa and Vishnu left Hosakote on their bike on Sunday evening and were proceeding toward K.R. Nagar.
When they were proceeding on the bridge built on a river near Sagarakatte in Yelwal Police limits at about 7.15 pm, a car coming from the opposite direction hit the bike.
Due to the impact, Vishwa was killed on the spot, while Vishnu was tossed into the river.
The car driver also sustained serious injuries and was admitted to a private hospital in city.
The identity of the car driver will be known only after he regains conscious and gives his statement.
Missing body traced this morning
Meanwhile, Yelwal Police and Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who had launched a search operation to trace the body of Vishwa on Sunday night, succeeded in tracing the body this morning.
Yelwal Police, who have registered a case, have seized both the vehicles and are investigating.
