Mandya: Two persons on a bike were killed when a private bus rammed into their two-wheeler near the lake bund on Maddur-Malavalli main road on the outskirts of Malavalli on Saturday.
The deceased are Shivu (40) and Narayana (45), both residents of Gangamatha Layout in Malavalli town.
On Saturday at about 10 pm, Shivu and Narayana were proceeding on the bike near the lake to answer nature’s call. When they took a turn to the Canal Road adjacent to the lake bund, a private bus coming from Bengaluru side to Malavalli rammed into the bike resulting in Shivu and Narayana suffering from serious head injuries. They were rushed to the General Hospital in the town, where they were provided with first-aid and later shifted Shivu to MIMS Hospital in Mandya and Narayana to a private hospital in Mysuru for further treatment. But both of them succumbed to injuries at the hospitals on Saturday late night, according to the Police sources.
The Rural Police, who have registered a case in this regard, have seized the private bus and are investigating.
