Riders killed as goods vehicle rams into bike on Ring Road

Mysore/Mysuru: Two persons, riding a Royal Enfield bike, were killed when a Canter goods vehicle rammed into the bike from behind on T. Narasipur Ring Road Junction last night.

The deceased have been identified as Nagendra (43) and Srinivas (30), both farmers and residents of Kammaravalli Mutt, Varuna hobli in the taluk. Nagendra was also working as a part-time painter while Srinivas was a part-time plumber.

Yesterday at about 10.30 pm, Nagendra and Srinivas were proceeding on the Royal Enfield bike (KA-55-EB-0472) towards Varuna on T. Narasipur Road, when the goods vehicle (KA-04-C-3341) rammed into the bike from behind on Ring Road Junction near Lalithadrinagar, resulting in Nagendra being killed on the spot and Srinivas sustaining serious injuries. Though Srinivas was being rushed to the hospital, he is said to have breathed his last midway.

DCP (Crime and Traffic) S. Jahnavi, ACP (Traffic) Parashuramappa, Siddarthanagar Traffic Inspector Yogesh and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and shifted the bodies to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem besides seizing both the vehicles and arresting the Canter driver.

Post-mortem was conducted this morning and the bodies were handed over to the family members.
