Mysuru: A fight between two beggars for a place to beg, resulted in one of them allegedly stabbing the other near Sri Saibaba Temple on Thyagaraja Road here on Thursday.
Usually, devotees throng the temple on Thursdays and the beggars scramble to get the first place near the entrance of the temple. On Feb.15 too, devotees thronged the temple and the two beggars in a bid to secure the front place indulged in a verbal fight which resulted in the two raining blows on each other. But the 80-year-old beggar later allegedly stabbed the other resulting in serious injuries and passers by shifted him to a hospital. The 80-year-old beggar has been taken into custody by K.R. Police.
Meanwhile, the devotees have urged the authorities concerned to stop the menace of beggars near temples.
