Mysuru: An awareness programme on ‘Quality Education for all Children’ was organised by Rural Literacy and Health Programme (RLHP) at Jaganmohan Palace here yesterday morning.
About 400 people comprising children and their parents from slums, members of management committees of schools and teachers participated in the programme.
Inaugurating the programme, Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep said that quality education was vital for all children as that alone could groom them as better citizens. He opined that unemployment was a biggest problem which can be tackled by quality education.
On the occasion. DC Randeep distributed school kit containing bags, books and stationeries to the students. K. Radha, Deputy Director, Department of Women and Child Welfare, Kumaraswamy, District Child Protection Officer, RLHP Director Saraswathi, Child Helpline Convenor Anil Kumar and others were present.
