Mysuru: The RO drinking water unit, installed by the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), near the University Swimming Pool in Saraswathipuram here, was inaugurated yesterday morning by former Mayor and area Corporator R. Lingappa.
The RO drinking water unit, which has been set up at a cost of Rs. 12.50 lakh from the 14th Financial Plan for the year 2015-16, produces two thousand litres of pure drinking water per hour, which would be very useful for the students and the general public.
The unit dispenses one litre of pure drinking water on inserting a Rs. 2 coin and 20 litres of Rs. 5.
Lingappa said that if anyone find the unit not working or has developed a snag, they can call the phone number which is displayed in the unit and the MCC staff would immediately attend and rectify the problem.
MLAs Vasu and Manjunath, Deputy Mayor Rathna Lakshman, MCC Commissioner G. Jagadeesha, MCC officials Anand, Govindappa and others were present during the occasion.
