Roger era begins at KSCA: Team Brijesh Patel sweeps poll

Former Indian All Rounder and 1983 World Cup Hero Roger Binny was elected as the Hon. President of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) during the elections, held here yesterday.

Binny polled 943 votes while his rival candidate Capt. M.M. Harish managed a mere 111 vote. Meanwhile, J. Abhiram with 885 votes was elected as the Hon. Vice-President against his opponents Joseph Hoover (122 votes) and Siddalinga Swamy (37 votes). Santosh Menon was elected as the Hon. Secretary and Vinay Mruthyunjaya as Hon. Treasurer. With this, Brijesh Patel’s faction headed by Roger Binny made a clean sweep at the KSCA polls.

The polling, which began at 11 am, saw a total of 1,069 members out of the eligible 1,976 members exercising their                    franchise.

Meanwhile, sources said that the new KSCA Managing Committee has decided to recommend Brijesh Patel as the KSCA’s representative for the BCCI AGM to be held on Oct. 23. 

Sudhakar Rai elected unopposed

Meanwhile, Sudhakar S. Rai, Secretary, Karavali Cricketers, Mysuru, was elected unopposed as the Convenor of KSCA Mysuru Zone. Sudhakar Rai was previously serving as the Chairman of Mysuru Zone for six years.
