‘Romeo’ teacher arrested for saying ‘I Love You’ to failed SSLC student

Mandya: Teachers are supposed to be role models who not only guide the students to achieve greatness but also come to their aid in times of distress.

However, here is a teacher who instead of comforting a student who had failed in her SSLC exam tried to misuse the situation by proclaiming his love for her saying “I love you.” The East Police have arrested this ‘Romeo’ and the accused teacher is Meghanath.

Background: Meghanath was an English teacher in a private school in Mandya city. He had uttered the words ‘ I love you’ in the guise of pacifying the failed SSLC student.

A complaint was also registered against him in the Police Station.

The Police based on an audio record of him teasing the student over phone, arrested him.

The incident: The student had failed in two subjects in the SSLC exam. On hearing that she had failed in two subjects, the teacher Meghanath had asked her to tell her parents that she had failed in only one subject.

Further, he had told her that he would give her notes and see that she writes the exams and passes them. Then he had asked her not to get dejected and would call her, when she could come and meet him.

Finally, Meghanath had asked her, “Have you switched off the loudspeaker now? Meet me in the evening. I love you,” on the phone to the student.
