Rotary Ivory City to honour Social Worker on Teachers’ Day

Mysuru: To commemorate Teachers’ Day, Rotary Ivory City Mysuru is honouring six distinguished teachers from ACME School, Sharadadevingar, Govt. High School, Marballi and Srikanteshwara Vidya Samsthe, Kyathamaranahalli.

On this occasion, social worker Sushma of Chiguru Ashram, Kooragalli, will be felicitated by the Club. The 25-year-old Sushma is looking after 15 mentally challenged destitute women in her Ashram. These women were thrown out by their families and were homeless.

Sushma, who is a MSW degree holder, took them and placed them under one roof. Now with the help of some of the Rotary Clubs in Mysuru she is in a position to feed these inmates.

She will be conferred “Samaja Seva Rathna” title by Rotary Ivory City for her selfless and dedicated work. Dr. M. Umapathi, Retired Professor of Political Science, University of Mysore, will be the chief guest at the function to be held  today at 7 pm at Dr. M. S.
