Rotary-Silicon Journalism award presented

He was speaking as the chief guest at the Rotary-Silicon Journalism Award for Excellence in Journalism, organised by Rotary Mysore Midtown at the Rotary Centre on JLB Road here on Wednesday.

In the modern world with growing influence of social media, it must be everyone’s effort to see that the media reaches all sections of the people. As science and technology have made rapid strides everything is being digitalised.

During school and college days, we would read the newspapers sitting in rooms. However, today we have explosion of information at our fingertips within minutes and seconds. Besides, media is facing many challenges today, he said.

On the occasion, Vijayavani Chief Sub-Editor B.S. Harish and Prajavani-Deccan Herald Photo Journalist B.R. Savitha were conferred Rotary-Silicon Journalism Awards.

Silicon Controls Directors Rtn. S. Raghavendra and Rtn. M.S. Naveen Chandra, Rotary Mysore Midtown President Rtn. Dr. K.A. Prahalad, Hon. Secretary Rtn. M.P. Gopala Krishna and others were present.
