Rowdies warned to mend their ways

Mysuru: A team of city Police officials, comprising officers from four Police Stations in the Vijayanagar Sub-Division, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Law and Order) M. Muthuraju, conducted a parade of rowdy-sheeters at Hebbal Police station yesterday.

A total of 101 individuals against whom Police cases have been filed in the Vijayanagar Sub-Division were summoned to Hebbal Police Station and issued a stern warning, urging them to refrain from unlawful activities.

Those on rowdy list from Hebbal, Vijayanagar, Metagalli and Saraswatipuram Police Stations jurisdictions were paraded.

DCP Muthuraju warned that those involved in unlawful activities such as extortion, interfering in real estate deals, loan recovery, chit-fund transactions, property disputes and disrupting public peace would face severe punishment, including permanent imprisonment.

The DCP advised the rowdies to engage in respectable employment, lead a decent life and take care of their dependents.

He emphasised that if they change their behaviour and contribute positively to the society, the Police would be willing to assist them in turning over a new leaf.

Vijayanagar Sub-Division ACP S.G. Gajendra Prasad, Inspectors A. Mallesh, Diwakar, S.D. Sureshkumar and Purushottham were present.
