Mysuru: More than 100 rowdy-sheeters from Devaraja Police Sub-Division limits were paraded at the CAR Grounds at the foot of Chamundi Hill this morning. They were warned not to indulge in any illegal activities. Devaraja, Nazarbad, Alanahalli, Lashkar and Udayagiri Police Stations come under Devaraja Sub-Division.
Today’s parade was supervised by Police Inspectors as senior officers had left the city for other engagements. As the parade date was fixed and communicated early, rowdy-sheeters had assembled at the CAR Grounds. One more parade will be held based on the date fixed by the City Police Commissioner.
While the Devaraja and Nazarbad Police Stations had 25 rowdy-sheeters each, Alanahalli has 12, Lashkar has 20 and Udayagiri has 35 rowdy-sheeters. Inspectors Thimmaraju (Devaraja), M.L. Shekhar (Nazarbad), E. Shekhar (Alanahalli), L. Vivekananda (Lashkar) and P. Santhosh (Udayagiri) supervised the parade.
The phone numbers and addresses of the rowdy-sheeters were recorded along with their family and business details. Addressing the rowdy-sheeters, Inspectors warned them of strict action including booking them under Goonda Act.
The session went on from 11 am till 12.30 pm.
