Mysuru: With the countdown for the 10-day Dasara festival has begun, City Police held a parade of history-sheeters at the Mysuru Central Jail Parade Ground here yesterday.
Addressing the rowdy-sheeters, DCP (L&O) M. Muthuraj warned them against indulging in unlawful activities.
Pointing out that lakhs of tourists from across the globe will visit the city during Dasara, the DCP asked the rowdy-sheeters to behave properly and not to cause any harm or inconvenience to the public.
Cautioning them against indulging in unlawful activities like extortion, gambling, prostitution, drug peddling, land dealings, hafta collection, usury etc., Muthuraj asked the rowdy elements to stay away from gang wars, political violence and other such illegal activities.
Instructing them to attend Court hearings in respect of cases registered against them without fail, he asked them to lead a decent life, free from any illegal activities.
The DCP also sought to know from each rowdy-sheeter on their present activities.
CCB ACP V. Mariyappa, Inspectors Kiran Kumar, A. Mallesh and other Police personnel were present.
