Bengaluru: On behalf of Apex Bank, Co-operation and District in-Charge Minister S.T. Somashekar was handed over a cheque for Rs. 5 crore towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, on Wednesday.
On this occasion, one lakh N-95 masks were also given to CM B.S. Yediyurappa.
Apex Bank Chairman and MLA Belliprakash, Marketing Federation Chairman Rajendra Kumar and Apex Bank Managing Director C.N. Devaraj were present.
Govt. needs helping hand
Speaking on the occasion, Somashekar said the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic was very serious and this had posed a tough challenge for the Government. Under this circumstance, it was heartening to know that the Co-operative institutions were coming to the help of the Government. Other institutions must also come forward to donate generously towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, he said adding that the Government requires money to deal with the current crisis.
The Minister also appealed to the people to donate to Mysuru Zoo as it was difficult to maintain it owing to closure of Zoo as well as ban on entry of tourists due to total lockdown.
