Rs.5 lakh relief cheque presented to flood victim’s family at Hunsur

Hunsur: B.Y. Vijayendra, State BJP Yuva Morcha General Secretary, this morning presented a cheque for Rs.5 lakh to the family of the deceased Ganesh, who died in a house collapse at Veeranahosahalli in the taluk yesterday.

Vijayendra, who visited the deceased Ganesh’s family at Veeranahosahalli, presented the Rs.5 lakh cheque (Rs. 4 lakh out of CRF fund and Rs.1 lakh out of the CM’s Relief Fund) to his mother.

Later, Vijayendra toured the flood-hit village when the residents living in 121 houses, which were found dilapidated, were asked to vacate the houses and move to safer zones.

He also urged the Tahsildar to construct houses to the families who have lost houses, under the Tribal Housing Scheme.

Mysuru City BJP President Dr. B.H. Manjunath, District President M. Shivanna, State BJP Secretary M. Rajendra, MLAs S.A. Ramdas, L. Nagendra and C.S. Niranjan Kumar, Hunsur disqualified MLA A.H. Vishwanath, Party leaders Kautilya Raghu, K.P. Siddalingaswamy, H.V. Rajeev and others were present.
