Rs. One crore hi-tech toilet at Nanjangud Temple

Mysuru:  The CII Mysore Zone is going to construct a hi-tech washroom on the lines of the one atop Chamundi Hill and in the Mysore Palace, in Srikanteshwara Temple in Nanjangud at a cost of Rs. One crore under its CSR fund.

Since the footfalls in this famous temple also called Kashi of the South is very high during Chikka Jathre and Dodda Jathre car festivals, new moon days and other festivals, is very high, a hi-tech toilet is very essential, was the proposal made at the CSR meeting, held here yesterday at the DC Office.

The proposal was put up by Nanjangud Temple Executive Officer and it was found that it would not be possible to take it up under the CSR Grant for the year 2017-18. Hence, a  final decision to be build the hi-tech toilet under the CSR Fund 2018-19, is likely to be taken at a meeting to be held on Feb.16 on CSR fund at the DC office.

There will be 16 toilets for men, 15 for women, two western-type toilets and separate toilets for specially-abled. Besides, it will also have a room for mothers to feed their babies.

The District Administration has decided to start the work by April this year and finish it by the end of the year for the use of the public, said DC Randeep.
