RTI activist Srinath murder: HC grants conditional bail to accused

Bengaluru: The High Court has granted conditional bail to two persons accused in the murder of Mysuru RTI               activist Srinath.

Justice Rathnakala, who took up the hearing after the accused, Auto Puttaswamy and Lakshmegowda, filed a bail application, granted conditional bail by asking the accused to produce Rs. 2 lakh each personal bond and surety of Rs. 2 lakh each, not to attempt to destroy evidence and co-operate with the investigations.

It may be recalled that on Dec.30, 2016, the body of Srinath was found on the banks of River Cauvery near Nimishamba Temple in Srirangapatna.

Saraswathipuram Police, who took up the investigation,  had confirmed it to be a murder and had arrested Auto Puttaswamy and Lakshmegowda, residents of Rajarajeshwari  Nagar in Mysuru.

Following their arrest, the accused had filed bail applications at the High Court.
