Research on workplace engagement during COVID

Mysuru: Rtn. Dr. Nanjaraje S. Urs, Past President (2019-20), Rotary Bangalore Southwest and International Services Director (2024-25), Rotary Mysore, has been conferred with a Ph.D for his research on the impact of Spiritual Intelligence (SI) and Emotional Intelligence (EI) on employee engagement in the IT/ITES sector during the COVID-19 crisis.

He received the degree from Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot at the 9th Convocation of CMR University, Bengaluru. His research was guided by Prof. Dr. Sandeepkumar Gupta and Associate Professor Dr. Lavanya Kumari.

Rtn. Dr. Urs’ study sheds light on how SI and EI play a transformative role in helping employees cope with stress, uncertainty and workplace challenges during crises. As the pandemic reshaped corporate world, his research underscores the need for organisations to foster emotional and spiritual intelligence among employees.

With businesses increasingly focusing on employee well-being and mental health, his findings offer valuable insights into creating a more engaged, motivated and high-performing workforce in challenging times.
