Mysuru: The Rural Development and Self Employment Training Institute (RUDSETI), Mysuru, has achieved the target fixed for conducting the number of programmes for the Financial Year 2020-21.
As against the given target of 20 programmes with 465 candidates, RUDSETI-Mysuru has held 20 programmes and imparted training to 467 students under various self-employment training programmes.
Out of the above programmes, they have held five Agriculture Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP), one Product EDP, six Process EDPs and eight General EDPs. Of the 467 trained candidates, 119 were trained under Agriculture EDPs, 21 trained under Product EDPs, 142 trained under Process EDP and 185 under General EDPs.
Post training follow-up for two years was Unique Selling Proposition (USP) of RUDSETI training. During this year, a number of candidates have settled under various ventures. About 339 candidates have settled this year raising overall settlement rate to 72.60%. The Institute proposes to conduct 39 number of follow-up meetings to cover 637 candidates.
Out of 20 Self-Employment training programmes conducted, one was sponsored by Bank Note Paper Mill India Pvt. Ltd., Mysuru and four programmes were sponsored by Ministry of Rural Development and National Academy of RUDSET (NAR). They also conducted three programmes under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) with the sponsorship of Khadi and Village Industries Corporation (KVIC), Bengaluru, covering 49 students.
During 2020-21, the Institute covered 374 candidates from rural areas, 22 from semi-urban sector and 71 from urban sector. Of the total participants of 467, around 80% candidates were from rural areas, 4.71% from semi-urban and 15.20% were from Urban area making it real rural development, this year. They also conducted 37 EDPs covering 2,060 beneficiaries.
As many as 14 sensitisation programmes covering 5,070 officials and general public, and one EDP Orientation Programme covering 550 women beneficieries were also conducted.
As far as gender-wise training participation, of the total number of 467 trained candidates 223 were women candidates and 244 were men. They have conducted four innovative/new training programmes under self-employment, four General EDPs for the benefit of 110 SHG Women under Mission One GP One BC Sakhi sponsored by MoRD. All 110 trained candidates underwent online exam on 7th day of the programme, and successfully passed the exam.
The Mysuru RUDSETI conducted a unique programme in association with Lead Bank Office, Mysuru, on financial literacy sponsored by Reserve Bank of India (RBI). In this programme, 95 participants comprising SHG women members, College Students, Teachers, Lecturers, FLCC Councilors, Bank Executives participated.
In association with Maharani’s Commerce & Management College, Mysuru and Canara Bank, RO-II, Mysuru, the Institute could conduct a meaningful and excellent programme on the occasion of “International Women’s Day” in which 550 girl students had participated.
RUDSETI-Mysuru had installed stalls at Chamarajanagar and Mysuru in two places in the Udyoga Melas conducted and mobilised over 500 applications for different skill training programmes.
