Mysuru: Following the acceptance of resignation of ZP President Nayeema Sulthana, ZP Member from K.R. Nagar taluk S.R. Nandeesh took over as the in-charge ZP President at the ZP office here yesterday. Nandeesh is the brother of Tourism Minister S.R. Mahesh.
Nandeesh was considered for the post as he heads Social Justice Standing Committee in the ZP and he will continue to function as the Acting ZP President, until a new one is elected.
Currently, the Mysuru ZP is governed by JD(S)-BJP coalition.
It may be mentioned here that ZP President Nayeema Sulthana of JD(S) had tendered her resignation on Dec.22, 2018, while Vice-President G. Nataraj had resigned much earlier.
Nandeesh assumed charge from ZP Chief Planning Officer Prabhuswamy.
