Mysore/Mysuru: Sadvidya State-level U-19 Rapid Chess Tournament has been organised on Aug.6 at 9 am at Sadvidya Semi-Residential PU College at Vijayanagar 2nd Stage in the city.
Honorary Secretary of Sadvidya Educational Institutions (SEI), Prof. MSK Narahari Babu told media persons at Patrakarthara Bhavana here yesterday that “The Chess Tournament is organised as part of Shathothara (post-Centenary), Suvarna (50 years), Rajatha Mahotsava (25 years) celebrations of Sadvidya Anglo Sanskrit Patashala, Sadvidya High School and Sadvidya Composite PU College respectively.”
Grand Master M.S. Tejkumar will inaugurate the tournament at 9 am. Prize distribution ceremony is scheduled on the same evening at 4 pm. Several students have already registered for the tournament, with over 300 students expected to play. Entry fee for U-19 category is Rs. 300 and for age category is Rs. 200. The tournament will be conducted in the age categories of U-7, U-9, U-11, U-13 and U-15.
The cash prize along with trophy in U-19 category will be distributed for top 10 players. The total cash prize is Rs. 30,000 with 73 trophies. Last date for registration is Aug. 4. For details contact PE Teacher B.V. Krishna on Mob: 99640-58045.
