Mysuru: Akhila Bharata Sarvajna Samskrutika Pratishtana and Deepthi Samskrutika Vedike had organised a function at Rotary Hall on JLB Road here recently for the release of the book ‘Sahitya Parameshwara,’ a commemorative volume on Senior littérateur late S.V. Parameshwara Bhat.
Releasing the book, littérateur Dr. C.P. Krishna Kumar (CPK) bemoaned that the younger generation was showing negligence towards our tradition and heritage instead of honour.
He said that Kannada literature too has a rich background which should not be forgotten.
Recalling that Parameshwara Bhat was his teacher, Dr. CPK said that Bhat was instrumental in launching a new trend in Kannada literature. He asserted that Bhat is still iimmortal inliterature.
He said that Bhat has translated all the plays of Kalidasa to Kannada.
Writer Dr. C. Naganna, Poetess Dr. Latha Rajashekar, District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Dr. Y.D. Rajanna, writers Dr. K. Anantharamu, K. Bhyravamurthy, Theatre Artistes N. Nagachandra, Dr. Jayappa Honnali, Rajashekar Kadamba and others were present during the programme.
